Aotearoa Regional Wine Awards 2025

Saint Clair had a great run at the recent Aotearoa Regional Wine Awards 2025 with a
Best in Class win, 3 Gold medals, 11 Silver Medals and 19 Bronze medals!

The Best in Class was Godfrey’s Creek Reserve Gewürztraminer 2025. These Reserve
wines are only made with the finest Marlborough fruit, harvested at optimum ripeness
and handcrafted by the winemakers to produce an exceptional wine with a real sense of
place.

The wine is made from a careful selection of grapes from immaculately tended, low-
cropping wines in the Godfrey’s Creek area of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, hence the
name. It display’s aromas of rose petal and warm spice. The palate is complex, with
distinctive characters of lychee and savoury spice with a weighty and a lengthy finish.
The grapes are picked in the cool of the night at the peak of flavour development. They
are then left to soak for an extended period to extract the maximum amount of flavour
from the skins.

Other Gold Medal wins in this competition were Saint Clair Pioneer Block 9 Big John
Riesling 2025 and the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 20 Cash Block Sauvignon Blanc 2025.

The Aotearoa Regional Wine Awards is sponsored by Investment Partners Chance
Voight this year and the awards were showcased at the Canterbury A&P Show in
Christchurch for the first time. Everyone was able to see the winners, read what the
judges had to say about each wine and learn more about what makes each of the
winning wines so exceptional.
