Saint Clair Family Estate has been awarded an astounding eight gold medals at New Zealand’s largest wine show – ‘The New Zealand International Wine Show’.
This year one of New Zealand’s most experienced wine judge and a leading wine educator, Bob Campbell MW was the Chief Judge. He was joined by Assistant Chief Judges – Larry Mckenna, John Hancock and Tony Bish. The judging team included a number of leading winemakers, several Masters of Wine and many key industry personnel. Since its inception in 2005, the show has built a solid reputation as being a leading New Zealand wine judging competition.
Trophy winners will be announced at a dinner with world-class wines held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Auckland on Friday 25th October. On this evening the full Champions List will be confirmed and the recipient of the Sir George Fistonich Medal as a Legend of New Zealand wine will be named.
The Saint Clair team are thrilled about their gold medal-winning wines, ranging across a range of varietals and price points. Senior Winemaker Hamish Clark comments; “the 2019 vintage has been exceptional and it is great to see these 2019 newly released Sauvignon Blanc wines show their quality. The Gold Medals are a tribute to a lot of hard work in the vineyard creating the best fruit possible, and then the winemaking team working together to let the fruit flavours shine in the resulting wine.” The combination of flavour intensity and quality in the vineyard combined with excellence in winemaking are essential factors leading to the gold medal success in the wine listed below;
