Meet Jarrah Prior, our GM of Winegrowing at Saint Clair Family Estate.
Jarrah hails from Australia, and it was here that he developed a passion for wine and all things related. His wine career commenced when he was 18, completing his first vintage as a Cellar Hand in the Yarra Valley. Jarrah gained a Bachelor of Wine Science from Charles Sturt University and moved to Australia’s spectacular Margaret River wine region, where he worked as a Winemaker. He has also worked overseas making wine in the Napa Valley, USA and Bordeaux, France and is currently completing an Executive MBA through Massey University.
With a love for the industry today just as much as he did during his studies and early winemaking career, Jarrah will tell you that he is a classic ‘wine nerd’. He loves tasting, exploring and experiencing wines from all over the world and will happily talk endlessly about anything remotely wine-related.
Jarrah joined Saint Clair immediately prior to vintage 2020. His role at Saint Clair has him piecing together the big picture - working closely with our dedicated growers, winemakers and the brilliant team at Sheridan Contracting. When Jarrah isn't hiding amongst the vines, you can find him out surfing or exploring the Marlborough region with his partner Tara.
