There are new beginnings at Selmes Road next door to Saint Clair’s award-winning Vineyard Kitchen Restaurant and Cellar Door where Sharon Yadav is the new owner of the art gallery and retail space previously called Return to Eden.
The new gallery will be called Rohana & Co., a nod to a family name, so look out for new branding and a fresh look rolling out very soon. Sharon is from the UK and moved to Marlborough with her husband and four children over 10 years ago. They love the area and she is excited to be fulfilling a dream to run a business in such a beautiful location.
Sharon took over the business in mid-August and has already started putting her own stamp on the space. What won’t change is the focus on working with local arts and crafts people and she plans to continue to work with the 45 artists currently supplying the gallery.
Alongside that, she has already upgraded the downstairs gallery area and turned the upstairs area into a workshop space for creative crafting workshops. Sharon will teach sewing skills and already a jewellery maker is lined up to offer classes in the space too.
The retail space feels fresh and original with jewellery, cards, giftware and clothes as well as skincare, candles and boutique chocolates and candies.
“It is all about connection and bringing people together” says Sharon “From the artists and makers themselves, the visitors who come to the shop following a lunch at the Saint Clair Vineyard Kitchen and locals who have a different kind of shopping experience available to them”. The business benefits from being adjacent to the Saint Clair Vineyard Kitchen and also Makana Chocolates just across the road.

Those plans include offering unique garden items and outdoor art that can be displayed under the verandah and in a small garden space next door to the Gallery. New stock will be arriving all the time, so it is worth checking out what is there. Sharon plans to be open the same hours as the Saint Clair Vineyard Kitchen so the guests to one business can always visit the other. The Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday.
