It was not one but two gold medals for Saint Clair Family Estate at the 2025 New Zealand
International Wine Show (NZIWS), with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir making a splash.
Saint Clair Vicar’s Choice Chardonnay 2024 scored 96 points, while our Origin Marlborough Pinot Noir 2024 was just one point behind on 95.
NZIWS is the largest wine judging competition in the country, and is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It is chaired by Bob Campbell MW, New Zealand’s most experienced senior wine judge and leading wine educator. Saint Clair’s entries were up against top quality wines from across New Zealand and the world.
Senior Winemaker Kyle Thompson said the team was thrilled to come away with two gold
medals to add to the collection. The entire team at Saint Clair from the vineyard to the winery works hard to achieve excellence across the board, he said.
“We’re tremendously proud of our success across multiple varieties at such a prestigious wine show – this is a great boost for our team and we’ll celebrate in style as always!”
Kyle and the team extend their thanks to the large and esteemed team of judges of the 2025 NZIWS for recognising their work with these gold medals, alongside 15 silver medals.
