Saint Clair is thrilled to announce exciting results from the Marlborough Wine Show! The team is celebrating an exciting achievement, with six Saint Clair wines winning gold in the 2024 competition, showcasing the quality within all four Saint Clair ranges: Reserve, Pioneer Block, Origin, and Vicar's Choice. Among the award-winning wines was Saint Clair’s Reserve Range Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, each a tribute to the team’s dedication to small-batch winemaking and the value of sourcing the right fruit from the right vineyard sites.
Reflecting on this recent success, Senior Winemaker Stewart Maclennan shared his excitement, “We’re so incredibly proud of the recent accolades for our wines at the recent Marlborough Wine Show. One of Neal’s overarching desires is to provide wines that continually exceed expectations across the board. So, it’s a notable milestone for us to produce gold medals across the Saint Clair range from Vicar’s choice up to Reserve tier wines. For me, it really reflects the extraordinary care, effort, and expertise the whole team place on every single wine we grow and produce.”
About the show:
The Marlborough Wine Show reviews and assesses entries using panels of experienced judges, including Saint Clair’s senior winemaker, Kyle Thompson. The panel reviews and rewards top-performing wines with trophies, gold, silver and bronze medals. The show provides a relevant, credible platform for Marlborough producers to promote their wines and is also a celebration of excellence - not only of Marlborough wines, but the local industry.

The 2024 competition season has been one to remember for many Saint Clair wines. The Vicar's Choice Sauvignon Blanc 2023 earned its second gold medal, following recognition at the New World Wine Awards.
The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 10 Twin Hills Chardonnay 2022 has also had a strong showing, receiving gold medals from both the Marlborough Wine Show and the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024.
Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Saint Clair takes pride in the Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, which has received over 121 gold medals and 39 Trophies since its first release in 2000. The 2023 vintage has continued this trend, earning four gold medals and numerous top scores in the past year, including the 2023 New Zealand International Wine Show, the 2023 National Wine Awards of Aotearoa, the 2024 AWC Vienna and the 2024 Marlborough Wine Show.
