Saint Clair Family Estate 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Champion

The 2013 Avenues International Aromatic Wine Competition has awarded Saint Clair Family Estate two coveted trophies – the Spence Brothers Trophy for the best Sauvignon Blanc producer and the Champion Sauvignon Blanc Trophy for the newly released 2013 Saint Clair Pioneer Block 24 Arthur Sauvignon Blanc. This is the second consecutive year that Saint Clair Family Estate has been awarded these two trophies, further enhancing the reputation of the family owned winery as being a leading New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc producer.

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 24 Arthur Sauvignon Blanc is named after vineyard owners Ken and Gaynor Arthur. The quest to keep improving their management and understanding of the vineyard site has led to their fruit being selected, through Saint Clair’s unique quality assessment system, for a single vineyard Pioneer Block wine. This was achieved in the vineyard by improving canopy health and eliminating any vineyard stress. The resulting wine is a very classic and concentrated style of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc of exceptional quality.
This news comes at the same time as an announcement from AWC Vienna International
Wine Challenge. The following Saint Clair wines have been awarded Gold Medals;

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 22 Barn Block Pinot Noir 2011
