An expert judging panel has swirled, sniffed, sipped, tasted, and debated over a thousand different wines to find the Top 50 drops under $25 in New Zealand, and Saint Clair is on that list.
It is with immense pride to announce that the Saint Clair Vicars Choice Sauvignon Blanc 2023 has been awarded a gold medal and listed in New Worlds top 50 wines.
To earn a gold medal in the New World Wine Awards, the wines must undergo a rigorous judging process where it is tasted and graded at least 19 times by 11 different judges. This dedication to excellence ensures that the award-winning wines are something worth shouting about.
The Top 50 under $25 category is something worth noting as it features the best-of-the-best gold medal wines from the competition and all are under the award’s unique $25 price cap, making it one of the most accessible wine awards for everyday Kiwi consumers.
As Saint Clair celebrates this exciting accolade, Managing Director Julie Ibbotson—who is also a family member, reflects on the win, “Being recognised within such a prestigious list of the best of the best gold medal wines from the New World Wine Awards is a massive thrill for our entire team. Saint Clair is also pleased to share that the 2023 Vicar’s Choice Sauvignon Blanc was not the only Saint Clair wine to award highly in this competition. The 2021 Saint Clair James Sinclair Malbec was also rated 95 points and a gold medal, an incredible compliment to the James Sinclair range.
Fruit for the Saint Clair James Sinclair Malbec was sourced from the renowned vineyards of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay, the 2021 Malbec is a standout due to its deep, concentrated palate with flavours of boysenberry and blackberry, laced with hints of black pepper.
