Vintage 2015 has come to a close – the grapes have been harvested and pressed and are now fermenting safely in their tanks under the watchful eye of our winemakers.
Time will tell, but initial tastings of ferments at these early stages show the 2015 vintage has delivered some great depth, concentration and intensity.
Vintage is an exciting but nerve racking time for our winemakers and vintage crew as we work split shifts to ensure the fruit is harvested at the optimal time, while running on too much coffee and not much sleep!
So while everyone gets back to normal and catches up on some much needed sleep, we crunched some numbers to find out what’s behind a Saint Clair vintage.
The results were surprising (and some quite frankly disturbing) but we’re all in good company, and while we work hard, we also have a lot of fun.
So thanks to our amazing team – particularly our vintage interns who joined us from all around the world – we couldn’t do it without you.
