Winestate Magazine is an independent Australian wine magazine that was established in 1978. Several decades later, it is still operating and thriving, providing articles ranging from upcoming events, personality profiles, new and old wineries, cellar doors and restaurants, and most importantly, Winestate magazine host and judge regional and varietal tastings within New Zealand and Australia.
Recently, Winestate Australia released their 318th issue, featuring the 2023 Chardonnay and Recent Release tastings. Saint Clair was awarded multiple high scores, including, Pioneer Block 10 Twin Hills Chardonnay 2020 with an impressive 5-star rating and a 98-point score.
This wine was descried as “A lovely flinty and punchy, lemon butter bouquet with a great varietal flavour profile, nicely matched by some smart oak.” - Winestate Chardonnay & Blends Tasting Panel, 2023.
In the same Chardonnay category, Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2020 was rated a star-studded 96 points.
The Recent Release category consisted of a four-person judging panel and awarded four Saint Clair wines within the top 10 per cent of their 100-point scoring system.
