Saint Clair Family Estate is pleased to announce a Gold Medal in China’s first professional wine competition aimed at Chinese consumers. The WINE100 challenge is a professional international wine competition aimed at what the Chinese consumers are drinking daily in the Chinese market.

The Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Pinot Noir 2010 achieved highly regarded Gold Medal status scoring between 95 and 100 points. Wines from all over the world were grouped by variety (or region) and tasted blind by a high calibre international judging panel. The Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon 2011 won a silver medal scoring between 90 and 94 points.

With excellence in mind Saint Clair partners with Aussino distributors in the Chinese market. Although focus for quality commences in the vineyards and flows through all processes, it does not finish in the bottle but more importantly continues through working within the best possible partnerships when it comes to sales and distribution. Aussino is a large part of the success of Saint Clair wines in China.

Senior winemaker Hamish Clark is visiting China later this week conducting tastings at New Zealand Wine Fairs and spending time with Aussino. Hamish comments; “it is an honour to be visiting our partners in China and a valuable time for myself to further learn and understand the Chinese consumer and culture. At the same time visits like this help cement our relationships with sales teams who continue to embrace the brand of Saint Clair.”
The award winning family owned winery exports to over 60 world-wide markets. Their global presence combined with consistent success in international wine shows further cements their global positioning as a leading New Zealand winery.
