Tasting Notes
Colour:

Deep plum red.

Aroma:

Intensely aromatic with ripe blueberry and spice characters complimented by hints sandalwood.

Palate:

An elegant wine displaying flavours of blueberry and rich dark cherry combined with a subtle spice note. The palate is full bodied with a silky texture and toasty oak lingering on the finish.

Ageing potential:

This wine is excellent to drink now, but with proper cellaring, it will develop greater complexity and can be enjoyed for at least the next six years or even longer.

Winemaking and Viticulture
Winemakers:

Kyle Thompson

Winemaking:

The fruit was harvested when it had reached full physiological ripeness and cold-soaked for five days to enhance flavour extraction and colour stability. Fermentation was carried out with specially selected yeasts, and the must was hand-plunged up to six times daily at peak activity. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed and racked to a mix of 6% new French oak and seasoned 225-litre barriques. Over ten months of maturation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, with regular tasting to monitor development. Once the perfect balance was achieved, the wine was carefully blended and prepared for bottling.

Viticulture:

Sourced from Marlborough’s exquisite Southern Valleys sub-region. The fruit was selected from low cropping vineyard sites that produce tight bunches with s mall berries which intensifies the flavour and concentration of the wine. The vineyard was harvested once the fruit reached optimum ripeness and flavour.
