Spring has sprung and the team at Saint Clair Family Estate are excited to launch the 2013 vintage Sauvignon Blanc at their Marlborough cellar door this weekend.
Visit their cellar door in Selmes Rd from Friday October 11 to Monday October 14, and be among the first in the world to taste and compare the 2013 Saint Clair Family Estate Pioneer Block and Reserve Sauvignon Blancs.
Cellar door manager Hailey McCauley said the release of the new vintage was always exciting, but there was a heightened sense of anticipation this year following a “near perfect” grape growing season last summer which produced wines with intense fruit concentration.
“The 2013 Sauvignon Blancs are absolutely beautiful, and I’m particularly excited about the new Pioneer Block 24, which is really different to all the others,” Hailey says.
“I can’t wait to see what everyone else thinks of the 2013 vintage.”
There are six single vineyard Sauvignon Blancs in the Saint Clair Family Estate’s Pioneer Block range, each with different characteristics reflecting the various aromas and flavours produced in the different areas of the Wairau Valley.
The Saint Clair Family Estate Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is also being released this weekend. This is their most highly awarded wine, and the 2013 vintage has not disappointed, with concentrated ripe grapefruit flavours, blackcurrant, passion fruit and minerality with a long, lingering finish.
The complimentary 2013 Sauvignon Blanc tasting and cellar door specials are available at the Saint Clair Family Estate cellar door from 9am-5pm Friday October 11 to Monday October 14.
The adjoining café will also be open from 9am, with freshly baked muffins and CPR coffee for breakfast, a full lunch menu from 11.30am-3.30pm, including baked Regal salmon with a beetroot and sesame salad that matches perfectly with the Pioneer Block Sauvignon Blanc range, and all day platters.
