The prestigious wine show assessed wines for quality from more than 2,000 entries. Fourteen international and Australian judges noted particular quality in 280 wines awarding them Top 100, Blue Gold and Gold accolades. Saint Clair Family Estate was included in this line-up of successful entrants with eight different wines across a range of varietals and price points.

The four trophies were awarded for the following;
TROPHY – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 3, 43 Degrees Sauvignon Blanc 2014 – Best Sauvignon Blanc of the Competition
TROPHY – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 17 Plateau Syrah 2013 – Non-Australian Wine of Outstanding Quality

TROPHY – Saint Clair Family Estate – The Wine Society (Australia) Perpetual trophy for the Most Successful Winery of Competition (Joint winners with Cellar masters – South Australia)

This is a unique wine show which judges the top wines with food, as this is the most likely way they will be consumed in the market. The competition was dominated by Australia and New Zealand wines but also judged were wines from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, USA, China and Thailand making it a true international wine show.

Neal Ibbotson Saint Clair Managing Director comments; “after returning from the Air New Zealand Wine Awards last weekend with trophies for both Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, the additional variety trophies here, including Syrah and Riesling, comes as a complete thrill, illustrating we can produce quality wine across a range of styles and varietals. Being awarded the Most Successful Winery of the Competition trophy, for the consecutive year, is attributable to the huge emphasis on quality that our team has across all aspects of our wine business.”
