Saint Clair Family Estate is proud to introduce its latest new product – the Saint Clair Barrel Aged Pinot Noir Bag-in-Box in Sweden. This exciting new release marks a significant milestone for Saint Clair’s producing its first ever Pinot Noir in Bag-in-Box.
Despite facing competition from 12 world-class Pinot Noir producers, Saint Clair Family Estate won the highly contested Swedish wine tender. As a result, the Saint Clair Barrel Aged Pinot Noir Bag-in-Box officially launched in March 2025 with Systembolaget, with a guaranteed nine-month presence in the market.
Bag-in-Box packaging is uncommon in New Zealand, however it plays a major role internationally, particularly in Sweden. At Systembolaget, Sweden’s government-owned liquor retail chain, Bag-in-Box wines account for over 50% of total wine sales in both volume and value. This trend highlights the growing demand for sustainable, user-friendly, and high-quality wine packaging, aligning perfectly with Saint Clair’s core values and mission.

Made from 100% Marlborough grown Pinot Noir grapes, the 2023 Saint Clair Barrel Aged Pinot Noir was carefully seasoned for nine months in premium French oak barriques, enhancing its complexity and structure.
