Saint Clair has been a long-time contributor for New Zealand publication Cuisine Magazine and its inclusive wine panel tastings held throughout the year. Since the early 2000s, Cuisine magazine has blind-tasted and rated wines from across New Zealand, playing a key role in establishing Saint Clair’s reputation for excellence across multiple varietals.
Most recently, Cuisine Magazine reviewed a selection of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and other white wine varietals, awarding Saint Clair several exceptional five-star ratings.

5 Stars (Top 5, 1st Place) – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 9 Big John Riesling 2023
“Pale in the glass with lovely clean citrus aromas on the nose. The palate is tight and focused with fantastic acidity that is beautifully balanced against the sweetness present. Fresh and bright with a lively palate and a lip-smacking finish, it’s superb.”

5 Stars (Top 5, 2nd Place) – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 3 43 Degrees Sauvignon Blanc 2024
“A lovely mix of herbal and thiol aromas on the nose in great intensity. That intensity is matched on the palate which has lots going on. Green gooseberries and fresh vibrant fruit flavours with a well-balanced acid line that is juicy, mouthwatering and long.”
4.5 Stars (Top 5) – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 29 Blind Block Albariño 2023
“An elegant expression of Albariño with subtle aromas of lime flowers and fresh stonefruit. The palate has lovely presence and is well textured, managing to be both chalky and salty with a bright acid profile that lifts and lengthens the wine.”
4.5 Stars (Top 10) – Saint Clair Pioneer Block 12 Lone Gum Gewürztraminer 2024
“Typically gewürztraminer in all the right ways with a heady aromatic mix of rosewater, musk and exotic spices through the pungent nose. The palate is rich and long and laden with flavour that continues to delight sip after luxurious sip.”
4 Stars – Saint Clair Godfrey’s Creek Reserve Pinot Gris 2022
“Very pale in the glass with bottle development characteristics evident on the nose that verge into a wonderfully savoury spice. The palate is still bright and fresh with pip-fruit flavours sitting against spice. Lively and powerful.”

Saint Clair is proud to receive these accolades across such a diverse range of varieties. The team remains dedicated to crafting exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of Marlborough’s vineyards and sub-regions. Saint Clair also extends gratitude to Mary Thérèse Blair and the Cuisine tasting panel for their commitment to setting a high standard in blind tasting wines from New Zealand and abroad.
