Results have been announced from the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition and Saint Clair has been awarded a gold medal and the trophy for the Best Wine from New Zealand!
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 14 Doctor’s Creek Pinot Noir 2020 is the winner, claiming this esteemed success. The wine is named after the Doctor’s Creek that runs through the home block vineyard of Saint Clair’s owners, Neal and Judy Ibbotson. A combination of the clay rich, vigour moderating soils, Marlborough’s climate and meticulous care in the vineyard produces an award-winning wine which is full bodied and elegant in style.
This highly regarded international wine competition is the sister competition to London-based prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition. The competition is designed and run by the most influential figures in the Asian and international wine industry including Asia’s first Master of Wine, Debra Meiburg MW.
Owner and Managing Director Neal Ibbotson comments, “every award is significant and important to us, however receiving this recognition from our very own vineyard that is right on our front doorstep is particularly special. We are fortunate that we have a most dedicated team from the vineyard to the winery that are committed to providing the best wine that over delivers on quality.”
The award achievement for Saint Clair Family Estate will provide positive endorsement from Asia’s top wine professionals, for the wine and the Saint Clair company, particularly to Asian consumers and trade buyers. This in turn will lead to more people purchasing and enjoying world class wine from Saint Clair. The wine is a perfect accompaniment to lamb fillet, sweet potatoes and roast vegetables, shared with family and friends.
