Eight Saint Clair Family Estate staff members are waiting to find out if their hard work has paid off after sitting their Level 2 Wines & Spirits exam.
The proportion of Saint Clair staff members sitting the qualification last week was so high that the three-day course was held at Saint Clair Family Estate Winery.
Our participants, including marketing, export, winemakers and cellar hand staff were among 18 sitting the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) qualification.
Brand manager Ben Leggett says WSET is arguably the most recognised international wine qualification body, with courses translated across 10 different languages.
Level 2 is the industry standard qualification for anyone in either the wine or spirits industry.
Saint Clair was only too happy to host the training course, which was run by one of the best in the business, Jane Skilton MW.
The qualification covers major grape varieties, important wine regions, wine styles, key classifications and labelling terminology, as well as food and wine pairing principles.
The eighteen participants sat a one-hour multiple choice test on Monday night at the Saint Clair Family Estate Winery, and will find out their results in the next couple of weeks.
