The New World Wine Awards is New Zealand’s prestigious and highly regarded consumer-focused wine competition. It is unique not only because of its strong focus on the consumer but also because the winning wines are then made available throughout New Zealand across more than 135 New World stores.
Saint Clair Family Estate prides itself in producing world class wines of excellence. The 2021 New World Wine Competition further validates the company reputation of quality, with two wines achieving the highly sought-after Top 50 Gold medal winning status.
Saint Clair Vicar’s Choice Pinot Gris 2019 and Saint Clair Origin Chardonnay 2019 have both been selected into the Top 50 under $25 wines. These wines will now be in New World stores nationwide to be enjoyed by wine-loving shoppers.
The show, solely based on New Zealand wines, is run like any reputable international wine show with an expert panel of independent wine judges using the world-recognised 100-point scale for scoring. The competition’s aim is to provide top quality wines at a great price. Wines must be priced (on the shelf) at under $25 and there must be enough stock available to meet consumer demand in store. Minimum stock requirements are put in place for all entries.
Saint Clair Managing Director Neal Ibbotson comments “These Saint Clair winning wines are readily available for consumers and at an affordable price. This gives us the fortunate opportunity to deliver our products to our loyal customers whilst also showcasing our wines to new consumers. The gold medal award and Top 50 placing is an accolade recognised and trusted by consumers. Obtaining this accolade is attributable to a team effort with a focus on quality throughout each aspect of our business.”
This success will continue to secure and enhance the reputation of the 100% family-owned Marlborough winery.
